Primary Purpose:
Provide a single point of contact for all district staff to resolve problems relating to computer- and communications-related services. Responsible for phone support, technology issue evaluation, and distribution of technology-related work orders. Perform routine clerical duties under direct supervision of the Principal
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
High school diploma or GED
Preferred Instructional Aide Certification
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Broad knowledge of computer hardware and software applications
Knowledge of software used to develop spreadsheets, databases, and do word processing
Ability to detect and resolve technical or technology-related problems
Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
Proficient keyboarding and file maintenance skills
Ability to shelve books following district cataloging system
Ability to work well with children
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Technical Support
- Process technology-related work orders and assign priority to work orders. Evaluate and recommend technology-related repairs and costs. Arrange for contract repairs for work that cannot be performed by district staff.
- Receive phone calls and work cooperatively to assist end-users to resolve problems and use software and hardware. Communicate with software and hardware vendors to resolve end-user problems.
- Analyze and identify trends in issue reporting and devise preventative solutions.
Records and Reports
- Compile, maintain, and file reports, records, and other documents as required.
Library Program Support
- Check books in and out. Collect and record fines.
- Ready materials for classroom or reserve collection use as requested by teachers.
- Request and schedule use of materials from outside sources including regional education service center.
Clerical Support
- Compile, maintain, and file all reports, records, and other documents as required.
- Prepare bibliographies, forms, purchase orders, requisitions, and routine correspondence according to standard procedures.
Accounting and Inventory
- Maintain library catalog.
- Maintain inventory of technology resources for the campus such as student and teacher technology devices
- Receive and process new books, materials, and equipment and reconcile with packing slips and invoices. Shelve returned books, materials, and equipment.
- Assist in the annual inventory and weeding of library media center materials.
Other
- Comply with policies established by federal and state law, State Board of Education rule, and local board policy.
- Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures.
- Supervise and monitor students as assigned and assist librarian and teachers to maintain appropriate student behavior and an orderly atmosphere.
- Participate in staff development, faculty meetings, and special events as needed.
- Maintain confidentiality.
- Other duties as assigned.
